Henry

In the contact sheet, 3 images are in color. The black and white contact sheet is the true black and white roll scanned, while the color images are from another roll shot in color. The frames I chose to replace with color spell his birthday: 7-8-2000 in frames 7, 8, and 20. This date is also celebratory of the fact that Henry is a twin. His other half, my brother Will, passed away before I was able to capture the two’s likeness together. By putting Henry next to himself in a film strip frame, I am able to rewind time and see my brothers together again. These images reflect how our family sees my brother: half of a pair. Finally, the portrait of Henry as a little boy is a watercolor painting by our great grandmother, my namesake.
