Photography, Media Arts

The creation of this site is to exhibit my AP Sustained Investigation for the 2022-2023 school year.

For my portfolio, I have chosen to focus on the ever-present phenomenon of the passage of time. How does it affect the present? Are we tainted or inspired by our fears of what is to come? By exploring every perspective of these questions from my friends to the world's landscape, I am encouraging the viewer to be comfortable in not knowing the answers. Instead, I beg the position that our fears are natural and should not be eased, for our experience of life would not be the same without them. How special is it that we understand how precious life is? That no time is guaranteed.

In using 35mm film and my grandmother's 1980s point-and-shoot camera, I explore my own loss and experience with time's restraint. However, the addition of Photoshop and the digital distortion of my original images, I marry present technology to the historic. Simultaneously, I am creating the future. My perspective, my hand, and my artistry are unique and inquisitive and suggest newness to the viewer. My final works are all products of 35mm film negatives and digital media arts printed onto archival inkjet prints.
